The Central Florida Association includes 9 counties from the East Central portion of the State.

We host association dances on months that have a 5th Saturday of throughout the year in various locations in our area.

Membership in the Central Association entitles the member to attend our 5th Saturday Dances at a discounted price.
 
Our Board meets four times per year.

History of the CFA

The first business meeting of the Central Florida Dancers Association
was held Friday evening February 15, 1957
at the home of Mary & Hack Chilton.
At this meeting temporary officers were elected
to hold office until June.

These temporary officers were:

President - Al Cody
Vice President - Jack Harwisch
Secretary - Rose Harwisch
Treasurer - Mary Chilton

After discussion regarding the name of the Association,
Johnny Crumston made a motion that the group be called
"Central Florida Square Dancers Association".
The first dance was called
"Charter Jamboree"
and was held on March 3, 1957.

The first permanent officers were elected on June 8, 1957.
They were:

President - Jack Karwisch
Vice President - Al Cody
Secretary - Rose Karwisch
Treasurer - Mary Chilton
